WordPress pricing varies more than most first-time buyers expect, because “a WordPress site” can mean a five-page brochure site or a full e-commerce build with custom development. Here’s roughly what each tier costs.
Rough pricing tiers
- Basic: approximately $1,500–$3,700: a template-based site with a handful of pages, suited to a small business that needs an online presence quickly.
- Mid-tier: approximately $3,700–$7,400: custom design work, more pages, and some copywriting or SEO setup included.
- Advanced: $7,400 and up: custom development, integrations, and a build tailored closely to the business rather than a template.
- E-commerce add-on: approximately $2,200 and up on top of any tier, for shopping-cart and payment functionality.

What moves the price
Custom design versus a theme, the number of pages, whether content needs to be written from scratch, and any integrations (booking systems, payment gateways, CRMs) are the main cost drivers. Ongoing hosting and maintenance are a separate, recurring line; budget for them separately from the one-time build cost.
Getting a fair quote
Ask any agency to break a quote into design, content, development, and ongoing hosting/maintenance separately, rather than accepting one lump sum. It makes quotes from different vendors actually comparable. Our own current pricing is on the services and pricing page.
